This course is designed for both first time permit holders, as well as renewals. Curriculum meets the requirements to obtain Minnesota Permit TO Carry, as well as Arizona, Florida, and Wisconsin permits. Topics discussed include but not limited to, handgun basics, range safety, situational awareness, less lethal force, defensive shooting techniques, combat mindset, use of force laws, Federal firearms laws, weapon retention, and immediate legal aftermath of a self-defense shooting.
This is a renewal course for those who have previously completed the Multi-State Permit To Carry course offered by Tri-County Defense. While still covering the essential classroom information, this course adds additional live-fire instruction for successful defensive use of a handgun to today’s uncertain world.
What to bring for your course:
Centerfire Handgun (no .22 caliber)
150 rounds of ammunition per person
3 magazines or 3 speedloaders minimum
Quality holster which completely covers the trigger guard (no cross draw or Blackhawk Serpa)
Carrier for magazines / speedloaders which is separate from the holster
Quality holster belt
Eye protection (Prescription glasses & sunglasses meet requirement)
Ear Protection (Electronic required to ensure a safe range)
Hat with brim (to ensure brass doesn’t get behind eye protection
Note taking materials

The first step in our Defensive series designed to lay the foundation required before moving on to more advanced techniques. These courses are designed for the individual who wants to take their skills to the next level. Topics included, but not limited to proper grip, stance, presentation from the holster, reloads, sight picture, trigger control and accuracy under pressure.

Centerfire Handgun (no .22 caliber)
250 rounds of ammunition per person
3 magazines or 3 speedloaders minimum
Quality holster which completely covers the trigger guard (no cross draw or Blackhawk Serpa)
Carrier for magazines / speedloaders which is separate from the holster
Quality holster belt
Eye protection (Prescription glasses & sunglasses meet requirement)

The goal with this course is to refine the techniques introduced in Defensive Handgun I. This is done by incorporating timed pressure to pick up the pace, forcing shooters to perform drills on demand.

Utilizing the skills for the Defensive series, we continue to pick up the pace. In the course, students are introduced to shooting on the move, running & gunning, addressing multiple adversaries, grounded drills, close contact, and low light.
What to bring for your course:
Centerfire Handgun (must be a semi-auto and no .22 caliber) 350 rounds of ammunition per person
3 double stack magazines minimum or 5-6 single stack magazines
Quality holster which completely covers the trigger guard (no cross draw or Blackhawk Serpa)
Dual magazine carrier which is separate from the holster
Quality holster belt
Eye protection (Prescription glasses & sunglasses meet requirement)
